The Valle Stura co-operative was founded by the foresight and nonconformity of some of the breeders in the neighbouring valleys, who preferred to agree and help each other in times of difficulty, (such as those of post- WWII) rather than close themselves within their individualism.
Therefore, in addition to the fundamental production of meat, milk also had its importance as a complementary product for a healthy economic development of the farms. Hence, on 2 December, 1956, spurred on by the best intentions, but without any security on the future of the choice they were about to make, 53 farmers formed the Valle Stura co-operative. And, of course, they would never have imagined to what extent their action would have paid off!
The choice they used had important repercussions on all the valleys and a large part of the province of Cuneo. The Valle Stura Dairy was the first to bring packaged milk into the homes of the people of Cuneo, locating the original establishment in the Paschero region, which was then replaced by the current one, on the state highway of Demonte. The partners increased from year to year, and today after more than fifty years after its foundation, and after being a model for the aggregation and the birth of other co-operatives, the Valle Stura Dairy continues its productions, studying, improving, adding products, to support the spirit of its partners and to meet the demands of its customers.
